Ritual idea was born in 1999 as
thrash-heavy metal project thanks to Max, vocalist hardly influenced by
Sepultura’s southern-american school, and thanks to Christian, guitarist trained
up to historical bands like Black Sabbath.
With Lorenzo’s coming as second
guitarist (2000 a. D.), despite his true passion for Metallica, little
experiments became visible, with influences from bands like Crowbar and Machine
Head.
Thanks to Stefano, drummer with great
technique and precision who joined the band in 2001, the present sound of the
band started to be marked.
On their way, Ritual had to change
bassist for the first time, above all because of musical motives. Panfilo left
the band in 2002 and Lele joined it: his “indie” background gives the
possibility to broaden the band’s outlook about the music
played.
Having gained musical stability, the
efforts started to be led in order to make live shows.
Having a good live success, the next
target was defined: the first work in studio.
In May 2003 Ritual’s debut miniCD Life
and death was made at Mezzanima Studio in Arcore (Milan), containing
four tracks chosen in order to show the different sound’s facets that emerged in
time.
Ritual was engaged in live shows
(with the participation to Distortion 2
days with Guilty Method in front of Rock TV’s television cameras) and in
making another miniCD.
In 2005 there’s another change of
formation: Lele and Stefano are no more in the band while Dario, drummer with
great technique and with classic influences like Blind Guardian, and Emilio, a
bassist powerful and very talented.
New lineup in 2006: Lorenzo leaves the band followed by Dario that was replaced first by Manuel and then by Fabio, excellent drummer with prog and hard rock tendencies.
